He then moved to Poland in 1996 as his mother began working for the Hungarian Embassy in Warsaw. Zolt\u00e1n focused on developing his own technique and unique style during these early years, inspired by lead trumpeters such as Bill Chase and Maynard Ferguson. He also studied in the class of Henryk Ma\u0142ecki until 2001.<\/p>\n<p>In 1999, Zolt\u00e1n won the National Young Musicians Competition and a scholarship under the Polish Ministry of Culture and Heritage. He won the Polish National Trombone Competition (Junior category) in 2000 and again in 2003 (Senior category).<\/p>\n<p>Zolt\u00e1n studied in Katowice between 2002 and 2004 before returning to Warsaw. There he attended the Chopin University of Music, graduating in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>His Warsaw Brass Trio (WB3), comprising of school friends Henryk Kowalewicz (horn) and Lubomir Jarosz (trumpet), received third prize in the 2003 International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Krakow.
