About Madrid Municipal Symphonic Band:<\/strong>
\nThe Madrid Symphonic Band is a hundred-year-old orchestra: It put on its first concert on 2 June 1909 at the Teatro Espa\u00f1ol theatre.<\/p>\n

The band includes entire instrument families (clarinets, saxophones, flutes and all the brass instruments), as well as the harp and low pitched string instruments \u2013 cello and double bass. Its first conductors were the composer Ricardo Villa and the maestro Pablo Soroz\u00e1bal. With a wide repertoire, its concerts have included pieces by composers such as Espl\u00e1, Ravel, Wagner, Falla, Chap\u00ed and Alb\u00e9niz.<\/p>\n

The Madrid Municipal Symphonic Band usually performs two sets of concerts at the Teatro Monumental theatre (in autumn and winter), and one in the Retiro Park bandstand (spring-summer season), as well as other extraordinary performances. Although it almost always performs in Madrid, the orchestra has also put on concerts in other cities in Spain and Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
